Barb Minemier – Holistic Health Coach & Wellness Guide

Barb helps her clients create balance not only in their bodies but in their lives. Bloat, Brain Fog and Fatigue? Let’s kick those “bad boys” to the curb. Feeling indecisive about life or that you are not enough? We’ll get that handled too.

Everything we put on the end of our fork is information for our body. Most times we fail to connect how we’re feeling with what we’re eating. Once we connect those dots you’re on your way to living a Happy, Healthy and Vibrant life full out.

Barb lives in New Jersey with her partner, 2 sons and their dog, Baci. Barb creates balance in her life through healthy eating and surrounding herself with people who have a zest for life, travel and dancing.

Elaine Alpert. M.Ed Workshop & Retreat Leader, Online & In-Person

It all begins in the mind, right? Those unchecked, untrue thoughts trickle down into our bodies where beliefs & emotions can run amok. They just love to run the show! Before we know it, we’re saying & doing things we wish we hadn’t. Most people can hear the mind chattering away but don’t know what to do about it.

Elaine has 25 years of experience leading workshops & retreats, helping people get free from the monkey mind–to let go of self-blame, fear and judgment. Then we can be more real, more loving and open to ‘life as it is.’

Elaine lives in Atlanta, Georgia and has been married to Tom, the love of her life, for 31 years. They have a son completing college this year. Way back when Elaine was in college as an art major, she got to spend a year in Italy… divine!

He shares his love and knowledge of the life and culture of Italy with joy and enthusiasm, and he’s a lot of fun to hang out with too. (At 6’7″ he’s easy to find if you lose sight of the group while lost in awe and wonder:)

Benny and his agency organize travel worldwide, and resides near Lecce with his wife, Antonella, his two sons, Luca and Marco, and his daughter, Sara.

My trip to Apulia was nothing less than amazing. This was very different from previous trips where I visited the major tourist spots like – Rome, Venice, Florence and Sicily. This was truly hanging with the locals.  Memorable moments were watching the older gentleman of a small town congregate in the town square, drinking coffee- picking olives to make olive oil (I have been educated and now know what to buy) participating in the making of classic regional cheese – but the most memorable of all was eating incredibly fresh and delicious food. Our meals were filled with healthy and hearty dishes incorporating freshly picked vegetables, homemade pastas, and locally caught fish.  The table setting was simple but the people around the table exuded warmth and could not be more gracious and welcoming. This is a must do trip so you get the real flavor of being in Italy to appreciate not only the history but the graciousness of a people who live life fully.

As soon as I saw Barb Minemier’s “you tube” video promoting the trip to the Puglia region of Italy, I knew it was exactly what I was looking for. Barb is a certified health coach at Nourishing Our Spirit and her goal was to provide people with the experience of living the life of a local in Puglia. This trip did not disappoint. She and travel agent, Benedetto Perrone thought of every detail to make this trip special. From the welcome cocktail hour to the cooking class where we learned how to make one of the pastas of the region, to the many fabulous home cooked meals. They really took care of every detail and made sure we were well-fed and that our glasses were never empty of wine. I loved learning about the different cheeses of the region through our visit to the local dairy farm where we met Anna, the owner and her wonderful mother. They treated us to a wine and cheese tasting after our tour of the farm where we saw how the cheese was made. Our trip to the olive oil mill where we harvested our own olives and learned from a professional olive oil taster was awesome! I never knew olives tasted bitter off the tree! At one point we found Carmella getting on her bike to pick fresh local greens for dinner. If that doesn’t represent the life of a local then I don’t know what does. This area is very rich with history. We had the opportunity to visit the cities of Ostuni, Lecce, Alberobello and Matera. Our private tour guides did an excellent job explaining the history behind each of these cities. They were very knowledgeable and passionate about the history behind each city. I am not a huge history buff and not a big fan of guided tours but the guides were so personable and made the tours engaging that even I enjoyed learning about these ancient cites. One of the many things that highlighted my trip was the hospitality that Benedetto and his family showed. They were very warm and welcoming and they made me feel at home and part of their family. This was really the trip of a lifetime and I would not hesitate to recommend this trip to anyone. Barb did an amazing job of turning her vision of this trip into a reality that could be shared with others.

It’s official!  Like Barb, I am now an “Italian Wanna-Be!”  An immersive, warm, and welcoming experience describes our great trip to Italy!  Barb and Benny, our travel agent and host from Novoli, prepared and delivered the trip of a lifetime.  Including his beautiful family in the experience allowed us to immerse in the Italian culture and enjoy exceptional homemade meals with wine and conversation.  Having Benny with us the whole time was a real treat…he helped us with every little thing and chauffeured us around, so we had no worries!   And thanks to his expertise and experience, we explored many historical sites along with private guide experts at each local, ate at the best restaurants, and met many people who welcomed us into their homes, restaurants, and shops. Those of us on the trip made lifelong friends and experienced the Italian culture in the most unique way. Needless to say, I highly recommend taking a trip with Barb and Benny!  Now…back to my kitchen to eat some wonderful pasta made from a recipe I learned in Italy from Carmela.  And it’s going to be topped with some scrumptious cheese and olive oil I brought back with me!

Buon appetito!
